May 9, 1999: Deep Times has gone into hibernation for nearly a year now. Though intentions have been to resume the regular addition of new material long ago, a combination of shortages -- time and money -- have delayed this renewal. Quality material is becoming more and more difficult to come by without money to pay for it. But for-fee business models for alternative news have never worked very well in any format. Such a plan is suicide for any Web-based service such as ours. We now have a plan for funding the future renewal, development, and expansion of Deep Times. We hope that those who support our work will help us by supporting this effort at making COPI self-sufficient.
We have a Shopping Mall (The COPI SHOP Mall) that offers the guaranteed best prices on the Internet for each member of the mall and the convenience of a single check-out for all of your purchases, no matter how many different stores you shopped in that day! This is the only mall on the internet that I know of that really makes it worthwhile to shop there, as opposed to the individual stores' sites separately. In addition, each member store has their entire Internet inventory listed within their Mall stores, so you won't miss anything. Every time you purchase something from the COPI SHOP Mall, a portion of the proceeds will go toward building a bigger and better Deep Times News Service in the future. The best part is, it costs you nothing! You buy things you would normally buy at a savings of both time and money, and support our efforts at the same time. What could be better than that?
[NOTE: COPI Shop also contains information on how you can obtain your own Mall and earn income for it to support your own project - or family.)
While we are building up our Mall presence to preserve and then enhance Deep Times, Other Members of "DP" (The Deep Politics Virtual Network) are still adding material at a dizzying pace and there will be announcements of updates to each of these sites as time allows - making Deep Politics your best bet for the current scoops on what else deep politics!. So please do check back regularly.
Even during this incredibly challenging transitional period, we have some excellent articles slated for appearance in Deep Times in the near future. if you want to be notified when new material appears on Deep Times, just sign up by entering your email address on the form on this page. You will NOT receive any additional mail from ANYONE as a result of using this service.

It appeared that President Bush's threat to "respond in kind" was but an empty promise. Or was it? Explosive evidence too hot for any major media outlet to handle shows that this may be one case where a politician did keep his word. (Posted 3/21/98) |

Rodney StichWhen Deep Politics was first formed in 1994,
its primary goal was the sale of the second edition of Rod's book, Defrauding America.
The book is now in its third edition, and we are very happy to feature Rod as our
latest affiliate. Specializing in the disclosure of serious governmental corruption
and its disasterous impact on typical American citizens unliky enough to be in the wrong
place at the wrong time, Stich has developed what is most probably the most comprehensive
network of insiders of anyone in the muckraking field of journalism. |

Deep Times ArchivesOlder articles that previously appeared in Deep Times. |
Please Note: COPI, Deep Politics, Deep Times, and David H. Stern, M.D. make every effort to select thought-provoking articles for their relevance and accuracy. Checking on every single source is an impossible task for this organization, and we rely on our authors to be diligent in their description of persons and events. Occasionally, an article may be presented that is less accurate than those we normally feature. (The only example that we know of at this time, is the article on The Viper Militia, which has been removed. New information has cast doubt on the alleged assassination plot against Bill Clinton in 1992, but that story was merely reported as the claims of two operatives. That information now appears in the article.) If you as a reader find a material misrepresentation, we appreciate it when you point it out to us. If the errors can be substantiated, corrections will follow. However, as stated, the responsibility for accuracy of the articles on this site rests with the authors, and COPI, Deep Politics, and Deep Times, and David H. Stern, M.D. expressly deny liability for errors. |
